Posted on 04/08/2021

Focusing your attention on having a good hand writing skill should not be left to students alone. Sure! Students need good writing skills in order to relate to their tutors or teachers well, especially when writing exams and taking notes for better grades and better understanding respectively. But is striving to acquire this simple skill be left to only the students?

You may be a typist or secretary or even a normal 'white-collar' worker and feel, you have your computer and your keyboard is always within reach, or as a medical practitioner, the pharmacist and other colleagues of yours in the profession understand your prescriptions, patients' case histories and other professional documents, and you don't feel the need going through the stress. Not only in the medical field, maybe you are in other professions and you feel the same way too. Seriously speaking, you still need a good hand writing skill.

If you see the need to improve your handwriting skills then you will need the following

Decide how you want your handwriting to look. Study cursive samples and look at different fonts. Write a sample setting at the top of a sheet of paper, carefully emulating the cursive sample you have chosen. Print the sentence in a chosen font and tape it to a lined sheet of paper. Select a pen or pencil that feels good in your hand; consider fitness, grip and how well it drives across a page. Do not grip your instrument too tightly. Copy the sentence again and again. Practice individual letters to master the writing style. Keep your neck, shoulders and arms relaxed while you practice. Pick a new sentence with different letters and practice copying that sentence. Practice with other pens and pencils when you fell comfortable with this writing style. Ensure, you continue this process until you feel, you are very good and well adapted to free-flowing writing with the various pencils and pens. Watch your handwriting transform to a style you can take pride in. You may never go back to a computer.
